Heritage School Jammu Kindergarten celebrates annual function of UKG

JAMMU: The Kindergarten Wing of Heritage School organized an event named "The Ramayan" the holy Hindu epic about Lord Ram and Goddess Sita, for Graduate Bears on Friday.

To throw light upon it, the students of Graduate Bears depicted important cross-cultural concepts like the power of good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, freedom over oppression through mesmerising dance items.

The students dressed in the different roles enacted the dramatic situations and actions of the main characters in the Ramayan, as they retold elements of the epic story. It helped children improve their cultural understanding and confidence in self-expression.

The programme commenced with a bouquet presentation, followed by a welcome address by the Co-ordinator of Kindergarten wing, Kusum Abrol, a welcome note by Vaanya Gupta, a student of UKG-B followed by the main attraction of the day-the enactment.

The Chairman of the school, Sunil Gupta, graced the occasion with his benign presence and addressed the gathering with his kind words of appreciation and encouragement.

Vaani Gupta, a student of UKG-B, presented the thank you note, followed by vote of thanks by the Principal of the school, Mr. Akash Pradhan.

The programme came to an end with a special event of the customary burning of the effigy of Ravan.
