GDC Ramgarh organizes ‘Swachhata Drive' under ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa'

SAMBA: The National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit-Prabha of Government Degree College Ramgarh organized ‘Swachhata Drive' on ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa' under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.

This drive was carried out in the College premises as well as College's adopted village ‘Kalah' followed by a Pledge on ‘Swachhata Abhiyaan' inside the college Premises and Run for Swachhata Shramdaan.

It was carried out under the supervision and leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Geetanjali Andotra, Principal of the College.

Dr. Shamsher Lal, NSS Programme Officer, along with NSS committee members and NSS volunteers, carried out the drive.

In the beginning, he briefed the volunteers regarding the importance of cleanliness and encouraged them to always keep the surroundings clean. He also said that this activity provided a great opportunity to the College to perform its social responsibilities for the society at large. Further he said that Mahatma Gandhi believed that ‘cleanliness is next to godliness'.

A large number of NSS volunteers participated in the cleanliness drive and cleaned the College premises and streets of the adopted village. They collected the waste and it was disposed off on a designated site and also participated run for Swachhata Shramdaan.

The entire program was organized by Dr. Shamsher Lal (NSS PO). The proceeding of the Pledge was conducted by the NSS volunteer, Jagmeet Kour.

All the enrolled students, Faculty members, non-teaching staff took the pledge.
