Seminar on "Science, Technology and Innovation" organised at GDC Ramban

RAMBAN: A one day seminar on the topic "Science, Technology and Innovation" was today organised at GDC Ramban in collaboration with J&K Science Technology and Innovation Council, Department of Science and Technology, Udhampur J&K.

The Program was coordinated by Shruti Khanna, district coordinator JKSTIC, science and technology department Udhampur J&K (UT).

The seminar was one of the series of activities planned by IIC of the college under the aegis of Principal Prof Archana Kaul. To systematically encourage the culture of innovation and the start-up ecosystem in the college, the college has established an institution's innovation council IIC.

Its function is to engage faculty, students and staff in a variety of innovation and entrepreneurship-related activities, including ideation, problem-solving, concept creation, design thinking, IPR, project managing, and management at the pre-incubation and incubator stages.

There was a large number of student turnout and all faculty members participated in the event. The seminar included two expert talks related to innovation and entrepreneurship.

Keynote speaker, Dr. Jagdish Singh Bali, agriculture extension officer Ramban, spoke in depth on, Agricultural Innovations and Entrepreneurship Opportunities, and Prof. Ajaz Ahmed, HOD economics, spoke on, The Role of Innovation in Economic Growth as potential areas of job prospects for students.

Student members of IIC also made their presentations in the seminar. Prof Younis Ahmad compared the proceedings of the program while Prof Bal Krishan presented a formal welcome address.

The student presentations were judged by Dr. Bharat Singh, Prof.Bansi Lal, Dr. Vinod Kumar, and Prof.Neetu Sharma. College students Shahid Nazir, Ranjeet Singh, and Surya Partap achieved first, second, and third positions respectively.

Going forward, the students will be oriented and trained to come up with innovative ideas in different fields, which will be incubated and processed through an idea management system for solving real problems.

The programme concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Prof Vijay Sharma.
