Jodhamal School hosts a National Competition of American Field Service

JAMMU: Jodhamal Public School organised a National Event themed: ‘COLOURS OF INDIA', in collaboration with, American Field Service (AFS), India Chapter. More than 60 AFS Member Schools participated in the Online extravaganza with great zeal.
American Field Service, popularly known as AFS is an international youth exchange organization, consisting of over 50 independent, not-for-profit organizations, each with its own network of volunteers, professionally staffed offices, volunteer board of directors and website.
AFS provides various opportunities to the School-Students across the globe to engage in inter-cultural activities, in both online and offline modes. It also facilitates Cultural Exchange Programmes for students and teachers in all Member Schools across the globe.
The Event: Colours of India, organized by Jodhamal Public School had two categories: The Junior Category comprising Classes 9 & 10 had the Cultural Cuisine Fest in which participating students prepared and presented the delectable cuisines of various parts of the country.
The Senior Category comprising Classes 11 & 12 observed the Fiesta Festival Competition in which the participants designed the couture of different cultures. Students from both categories submitted their videos to the host school based upon which a team of jury selected the best presentations.
The videos, received in large numbers from participating schools, were very creative and informative, each showcasing the best cuisine and couture of their culture, thereby taking immense pride in it.
Following Schools and their students received accolades for their attempts: (1) SAI International School, Bhubaneswar: Rishabh Satpathy, Poorva Mishra, Evyavan Upadhyay, Punyajit Mishra, Bibhanshu Mishra, Shivakshi Dixit, Tejaswee Patnaik, Abheek Sharma, and Satavisha Das (2) Children's Academy, Ashok Nagar, Mumbai: Netra Ayare, Prisha Sule, Saanvi Patil, and Siya Prabhu (3) Mansukhbhai Kothari National School, Pune: Deepal Srivastav, Bhavika Garg, Bhavana Agrawal, Prathik Jadhav, Dhruv Devadiga, and Deanne Lazarus (4) Delhi Public School, Kolar Road, Bhopal: Shashwat Singh, Srishti Negi, Harshika Saxena, Naman Johri, Aarushi Nigam, Advay Singh Yadav, Harshita Patharia, Aarya Sharma, and Misha Baniya (5) IES Public School, Bhopal: Aamna Ali, Mahi Shrivastav, Namrata Ben, Manya Katare, and Pallavi Sisodiya (6) Vidyasagar School, Indore: Riddhima Phadke, Sagarika Manjrekar, and Namita Pandey.
The dignitaries who attended the Result Declaration Ceremony were: Dr Sumer Singh, former Principal, The Daly College, Indore, and an eminent educationist, Sarita Badhwar, AFS Inter-cultural Programmes In-Charge and Learning Trainer, Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee, Jodhamal Public School and Principals, teachers and students of participating schools.
Principal Girish Kumar welcomed all dignitaries in his welcome speech and highlighted the importance of such cultural transactions in students’ lives.
Neetu Johri, AFS Coordinator, delivered the Vote of Thanks
