6th Kargil International Marathon concludes

KARGIL: The 6th Kargil International Marathon-2023 concluded at Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium, Biamathang, Kargil on Monday.
The marathon was flagged off by Deputy Commissioner, CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Shrikant Suse in presence of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Wani.
On the concluding day of the 6th Kargil International Marathon 2023, there were two categories including boys and girls under age groups of U-18 and U-16. The participants of U-18 had to cover a distance of 3 km while U-16 had to cover a distance of 2 km.
Simultaneously, the Khree Sultan Cho Sports Stadium in Biamathang served as the starting and finishing point for all races. Racers were commended for their outstanding performances and honored with medals and certificates as tokens of appreciation.
In covering 3 km in the boy's category U-18; Jaffar Ali, Mohammad Amin and Sadiq Ali bagged first, second and third positions respectively. Similarly, in girl's category U -18 Ruqiya Bano, Zareena Bano and Zehra Batool bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
In covering 2 km in the boy's category, U -16, Asif Ali, Mohammad Zairy and Irfan Haidary bagged first, second and third positions respectively. Similarly, for the 2 km race of girls U-16, Zehra Batool, Zabioun Nissa and Tohira Bano bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
Many other prominent guests present on occasion were Chief Controller of Finance Kargil Iftikhar Hussain, Chief Planning Officer Kargil, Abdul Hadi, Deputy SP (DAR) Stenzin Dorjey, President Arham Foundation and Chief Coordinator Sarhad Kargil International Marathon, Vasant Gokhale, Race Director, Sumant Waikar, Technical Director, Anuj Nahar, Trustee Sarhad, Suyog Gundecha, Coordinator Sarhad Kargil International Marathon, Kargil Gaurav Awardees, officials of Indian Army, Ladakh Police, Departments like DYSSO, DIPR Kargil, Health, PHE, Horticulture, Education, Cooperatives, Animal Husbandry, Sheep Husbandry, RD&PRD, Fisheries, Tourism, MC Kargil, AKTTA, Handloom, NYK, officials of SAI, district officers, and officials from other concerned departments, Ladakh Olympic Association, Kargil Olympic Association, Human Upliftment Drass, athletes, runners, sports persons and general public were present at the event.
