Government Polytechnic Jammu organises Debate competition on Engineers' Day

JAMMU: As a tribute to one of the first and finest engineers of India Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, Government Polytechnic Jammu celebrated Engineers Day in the college.
On the occasion, the Inter-Departmental Debate Competition (MANTHAN-2023) was organized on the topic "Social Networking Site- Boon or Bane".
The programme was inaugurated by Chief Guest and College Principal Arun Bangotra. In his inaugural speech, Bangotra highlighted the contribution of Sir MokshagundamVisvesvaraya towards the society and appreciated the role of Engineers in Nation Building.
He motivated the students to work hard and use their Engineering intelligence, knowledge and skill for the welfare of the nation, society and humanity. He also briefed the students about the pros and cons of Social media.
The thirteen debaters from different departments of the government polytechnic Jammu spoke on the topic with full zeal and motivation and threw light on the pros and cons of social media.
Sahil Sharma, student of 1st semester stood First, MadhavPandoh student of 3th semester bagged second position and Khushi Jamwal student of 1st semester won third position.
The organizers of the events were Jasdeep Kour HOD I&C, Ajay Thapa Lecturer Mechanical Engineering, Amit Gupta Demonstrator Civil Engg, Er Itika Sharma Demonstrator Electrical Engg.
Others who were present on the occasion were Er. Sukhdeep Singh HOD Civil Deptt. Er. Manjeet Singh HOD Electrical Deptt. Er. Rani Devi HOD Computers Deptt, Amit Kumar Sharma HOD T&T Deptt. Er Sanam Gupta and Er. Rishabh Gupta Lecturer Mechanical Engg, Chamel Singh PEM, Er. Vicky Sharma Demonstrator Electrical Enggand staff members and students of the college.
