GCW Gandhinagar hosts interactive session on "Sexual Harassment Against Women At Workplace"

JAMMU: To promote a safer and more inclusive work environment, the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC) and Sensitization To, Prevention Of And Redressal of Sexual Harassment (SPARSH) along with the Department of Social Work, Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar organized an Interactive Session On Sexual Harassment Against Women at Workplace , here today.
Convenor ICC and SPARSH Dr. Irvinder Kour formally welcomed the guest speaker. She highlighted that the aim of organizing this lecture is to provide the participants a deeper understanding of the culture of respect, inclusiveness and zero tolerance for harassment.
Resource person for the event was Dr. Nancy Mengi, Head of the department Social Work, Central University of Jammu. She elaborated on sexual harassment, its various forms and legal and ethical implications. The lecture empowered the participants with knowledge and strategies to combat workplace harassment effectively.
A total number of 50 students attended the session. Prof. Minu Mahajan, the College Principal, expressed her enthusiasm for the lecture and emphasized that addressing sexual harassment at workplace is not just a legal requirement but a moral obligation.
The event was a successful sensitization programme as it provided valuable insights on fostering a culture of respect, equality and creating safe work environments where everyone can thrive.
