Seven J&K Gymnasts selected for World Cup, Asian Championships

JAMMU: In a major achievement, six senior and one sub-junior Gymnasts have been selected for the World Cup and Asian Championships from Jammu and Kashmir.

J&K Gymnasts trainee at gymnastics Academy of Jammu & Kashmir, M A Stadium proved their supremacy and brought laurels as six senior and one Sub Junior Gymnasts have been selected during the recently conducted National selection Trials at Aurangabad to select Indian Aerobic Gymnastics teams for participation in FIG World Cup in Aerobic Gymnastics at Bucharest, Romania from 13 -15 October, 2023 and Asian Aerobic Gymnastic Championships at Ulaanbataar, Mangolia from 15 to 17 Sept, 2023.

Besides, 10 NOS of International & National qualified Judges from different States and Union Territories were nominated by GFI for the fair selection for evaluating the performances of these trials. A total of 122 Gymnasts from all the country participated in these National selection Trials.

Finally the selection committee of GFI on the recommendations of Technical Committee of GFI finalised the names of 14 Gymnasts and 14 Gymnasts for World Cup & Asian Championships respectively.

Following are the gymnasts from J&K in Seniors category got birth in Indian squad for World Cup at Romania, Yaadavi Mahajan, Sudipti Khanna, Gourav Chettri, Manav Gupta, Laksh Mahajan and Dhruv Dewan whereas for Asian Championships at Mangolia is Ruddrakash Khanna in Sub juniors category.
