Heritage School celebrates Investiture Ceremony

JAMMU: 4th August 2023 dawned on Heritage School with a promise of a new beginning as the members of the newly elected Student Prefectorial Board were inducted into office in an impressive Investiture Ceremony for the session 2023-24.

This mega event is the culmination of a meticulous and democratic process, through which the students vote for the student representatives of their choice via electronic voting. It is also an occasion to recognize and celebrate the outstanding qualities displayed by the selected prefects, as well as inspire and motivate all students to become responsible leaders within the school community.

The events of the momentous day commenced with a word of warm welcome to the august gathering of special guests, parents, faculty and students. It was an absolute honour to welcome the Founder Trustee of Heritage School, Nirmal Gupta, who grace the occasion with her elegant presence. Her guidance and blessings have always been the greatest motivation for the school to attain greater heights.

Ganesha Vandana, presented by the young Heritageans, created a divine synergy and gave an auspicious beginning to the ceremony. The Principal, Akash Pradhan, administered the oath of office to the School Prefects & House Prefects respectively.

It was followed by pipping of Sidh Mahajan (XII) as Head Boy and Anika Gupta (XII) as Head Girl by the Principal. Manroy Singh (Vice Head Boy) and Ananya Puri (Vice Head Girl) were decorated with badges and sashes by the Vice Principal Rashmi Thakur.

In an exceptionally close competition in the Primary Wing, two of the school's brightest stars Krishang Gandotra and Vivaan Gupta were elected as Head Boys (Junior School Prefects) and Kaavisha Singh as the Head Girl (Junior School Prefect). The young leaders in the making , were adorned with badges and sashes by the Headmistress Vandana Jasrotia.


The other Council members i.e Cultural Activities Captain Aryan Chandan and the Sports Captain Shivyankar Sharma received their badges and sashes from their respective Co-ordinators.

The students of the four Houses who successfully made it to the Prefectorial Board are - Madhuwani, Prefect (Sr.), Manan Gupta, Vice Prefect (Sr.), Vihaan Sharma, Prefect (Jr.) and Aarna Singh, Prefect (Jr.) for Culture House.

Kavya Choudhary, Prefect (Sr.), Akula Punj, Vice Prefect (Sr.) , Rudransh Gupta, Prefect (Jr.) and Ashree Jandial, Prefect (Jr.) for Tradition House. Adit Mital, Prefect (Sr.) , Aryavir Singh, Vice Prefect (Sr.) , Tejas Mahajan, Prefect (Jr.) and Aayat Tariq, Prefect( Jr.) for Legacy House. Rudraksh Lamba, Prefect (Sr.), Samanvay Sharma, Vice Prefect (Sr.), Samardev Bansal, Prefect (Jr.) and Aaira Mughal Prefect (Jr.) for Dignity House. These House Prefects received their badges and sashes from their respective House Mistresses.

The ceremony was further enlivened by amazing dance and music performances by the talented young artists of the school.

In her vote of thanks, the Vice Principal Rashmi Thakur, congratulated the parents of the newly elected members of the student council, as the day marks an important milestone in the lives of their precious ward. She also commended the newly invested Student Council members on their well-deserved appointment. She encouraged them to embrace this opportunity to lead with empathy and humility.

She reminded them that leadership is not about wielding authority but about empowering others to achieve their full potential. She expressed her faith in the ability of the newly elected Prefectorial Board members and hoped that they will take Heritage to new heights and glory leaving behind a legacy that future generations will look up to.

The programme came to an end with a mellifluous rendition of the school song, that inspires Heritageans to work persistently with integrity and motivates them to keep elevating the school to greater heights.
