JU showcases innovative initiatives at Two-Days Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam

JAMMU: A delegation from University of Jammu headed by Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai comprising Prof K S Charak, Dr Anil Gupta, Dr Daud Iqbal Baba, Dr Shallu Sehgal, Dr Jitendra Manhas and Ameet Targotra, presented and showcased recent innovative initiatives of University of Jammu at Two-Days Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 at IECC, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on 29th July 2023.
University of Jammu showcased an innovative Four-Year Undergraduate Program, "Design Your Degree" at a dedicated UGC stall.
Based on personalized experiential learning, problem solving through collaborative team work, practical application of AI, coding, Communication, GPT4 Data, etc., the programme witnessed a large flow of visitors and attraction for educators, industry representatives, academician experts from skilling institutions, teachers, scholars and students of various schools.
Another stall showcased Research and Development initiatives of University of Jammu, "College on Wheels"- JK Gyanodaya Express , a unique and innovative project, wherein around 800-1000 students of the universities of J&K shall get an opportunity to undertake a rail journey across the country and work on different projects to promote hands-on learning outside the classroom also drew wide-spread attention from students, scholars, academicians and industry professionals.
Various other initiatives like Goonj - Listen to your inner calling, High Altitude Studies and Disaster Management, and Innovative Academic Initiatives in Online and Blended Mode by Directorate of Distance & Online Education (DD&OE and The Business School of University of Jammu were also showcased during the event.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umesh Rai said that the design your degree program aims to create graduates who are not only experts in their chosen field but also possess a holistic understanding of the world enabling them to make meaningful contribution to society.
Under the program, students will be offered an opportunity to craft a personalized, interdisciplinary learning experience. University of Jammu's participation in the event strengthened its position as a leading institution committed to shaping the future of education in India and J&K in particular.
