IIC, JU organises one day Lecture cum interaction with Dr. Ajit Kumar Panda

JAMMU: The Institutions Innovation Council (IIC), University of Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Electronics, University of Jammu organizes one -day Lecture cum interaction with Dr. Ajit Kumar Panda, IEEE Distinguished Lecturer and BOYSCAST Fellow at University of Michigan and a Regular Associate of ICTP, Triesty, Italy today on June 09, 2023 in the Seminar Hall of the Department of Electronics.
On this occasion Prof. Ajit Kumar Panda talked about the innovation on Communication Technology, Internet of things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), Big Data, neuromorphic computing and 5G Technology. He talked about his start up making business in line with Make in India policy.
He further spoke about the opportunities of startups in the UT of Jammu and Kashmir and in India through different Government policies and investments from the private platforms.
Earlier Prof. Susheel Kumar Sharma, Head of the Department of Electronics presented the welcome address and he spoke about various initiatives taken by the Department of Electronics from time to time to motivate the students and scholars regarding innovations and startups.
He also emphasized that in addition to academics, students need to upgrade themselves in communication skills and aptitude for better job prospects.
Prof. Rakesh Vaid, Convenor IIC, University of Jammu while introducing the speaker spoke about the various activities undertaken under its ambit of IIC. Prof. Vaid further stressed to convert publications into the IPR and patents as India presently stands at the 3rd place in number of publications but lags behind in the number of Patents being filed. Prof. Parveen K Lehana also spoke on this occasion.
Dr. Rockey Gupta Coordinated the whole program and also presented the formal vote of thanks to conclude the lecture.
The event was attended by a large number of students, research scholars and IIC members including Dr. Ripu Dhaman Parihar from the Department of Zoology, Dr. Skarma from the Department of Botany and Dr. Bindu Sangra from the Law School, University of Jammu.
