GDC Vijaypur students take pledge to say ‘No to Tobacco'

SAMBA: To mark observance of World No Tobacco Day Government Degree College Vijaypur organised a pledge taking ceremony to say no to Tobacco products.

Teaching Staff, Non-teaching Staff, NSS volunteers and a substantial number of students of the College were administrated the Anti-Tobacco pledge under the supervision of Principal, Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Gupta.

The theme of World No Tobacco Day 2023 is ‘We Need Food, Not Tobacco'.

Addressing the students, The Principal said that the College has already organised a number of events in furtherance of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan initiative of the Government of India and the primary aim of this day is to spread awareness about the dangers of using tobacco and how an individual can avoid different ailments by quiting smoking.

The program was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor NSS), co-coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan (Convenor Eco-Club). It was organized by Prof. Amanpreet Kour (Deptt. Of Punjabi).
