Three day Workshop on 'Crafting Visual Impact: A Workshop on Art of Poster Making' concludes at JU

JAMMU: The Valedictory Function of the three-day workshop "Crafting Visual Impact: A Workshop on Art of Poster Making" being organised by The Literary Club under the aegis of "Utsaah," the Clubs, University of Jammu was held in the Seminar Hall of the Department of English, University of Jammu.
The Chief Guest for this concluding ceremony was Prof. Meena Sharma, Dean, Planning, University of Jammu.
The programme commenced with the felicitation of Prof. Meena Sharma by Prof. Satnam Kour, Chairperson, "Utsaah," the Clubs, and Head, Department of Psychology, University of Jammu, who in her welcome address congratulated Dr. Sadaf Shah, the coordinator of The Literary Club for her efforts, Rakesh Sharma, the resource person for his able guidance, and the enthusiastic participants of the workshop for its success.
She further added that such encouragement on the part of the organisers is commendable and would leave an indelible mark on the impressionable minds of the young artists.
Prof. Meena Sharma, while speaking to the audience, emphasised upon the importance of making more platforms available to those associated with the arts and extended her support in the capacity of the Dean, Planning in making the required infrastructure available for future endeavours in this direction.
She also distributed prizes to the winners of the poster making competition, namely, Atika Malik, Gurjeet Kour, and Dilpreet Kour.
Rakesh Sharma, Coordinator, The Painting Club, and Head, Department of Music & Fine Arts, University of Jammu was the resource person for the three day long art initiative.
In his remarks, he emphasised on the need of encouraging and nurturing the raw creativity of the amateur young artists.
He congratulated the participants for having accomplished a significant level of expertise in poster making in a span of merely three days and applauded the enthusiasm of The Literary Club.
In her concluding remarks, Dr. Sadaf Shah, Coordinator, The Literary Club, & Associate Professor in the Department of English, University of Jammu talked about the future plan of activities of The Literary Club in which she told the audience that the Club has been organising a series of literary activities surrounding the theme of "drug abuse" since a month and plans to showcase a short drama in the near future wherein all the creative talent of the participants of the previous workshops shall be brought in together.
In further developments, the programme concluded with the official vote of thanks being offered by Dr. Sadaf Shah, Coordinator, The Literary Club, University of Jammu.
And the smooth functioning of the programme was facilitated by the members of The Literary Club, University of Jammu.
