Cyber Security Initiative organized in collaboration with Industry by the Department of Computer Science & IT, JU

JAMMU: The Department of Computer Science, University of Jammu organized lectures for the duration of one week in collaboration with M/s Sedulity Solutions and Technologies, New Delhi, from 22nd to 26th of May, 2023 at the department under academia industry cooperation.
This programme is an important initiative envisioned by Prof. Umesh Rai, Hon. Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu to engage the industry in the academia by inviting the experts from various leading fields of computer technologies for interaction with the students and research scholars.
Prof. Rahul Gupta, Dean mathematical Sciences, and Rector, Bhaderwah campus, University of Jammu, was the Chief Guest of the valedictory session held on 26th May, 2023.
Prof. Gupta appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing such academia industry events in the latest field of technology. He emphasized that such initiatives are very significant under National Education Policy, 2022, and help strengthening the academic and research ecosystem of the University in general and the department in particular.
Prof. Pawanesh Abrol, Head, Department of Computer Science & IT, University of Jammu, in his welcome address explained various initiatives taken by the department recently including organization of faculty development programmes (FDP), invited talks, workshops etc.
Prof. Abrol said that this is a unique initiative that not only provides the opportunities to the students of MCA and M.Tech to get broader exposure to the high end technologies but also sets up a roadmap for further initiatives in research and academics for the benefit of students of Computer Science.
Prof. Abrol further informed that an MOU has also been signed between the University of Jammu and M/s. Sedulity Solutions technologies, New Delhi, for providing various opportunities for the improvement of infrastructure and interactions between the experts and students.
Dr. Anup Girdhar, CEO and Founder, Sedulity Solutions and Technologies, was the resource person for the programme. Dr. Anup gave in depth coverage in the domain of Cyber Security along with practical demonstration and explained research approaches to the students and the scholars.
Dr. Vinod Sharma, Professor, in his address emphasized that there is a need for the students to prepare and get abreast with the latest tools and technologies in the field of Computer Science so that they can get better opportunities both in professional and corporate sector.
Dr. Lalit Sen Sharma, Professor and Course Coordinator, dwelled on the structure and details of the course being undertaken in collaboration with the industry.
Dr. Palak Mahajan presented the vote of thanks.
Mohak Sharma, from S.S.T, New Delhi, Shiwalika Sambyal, Sanjay Manhas, Gurpal Singh along with the faculty members, research scholars, and the students of MCA & M.Tech programmes attended the event.
