PSPS Govt College for Women organises Educational trip to Manda Zoological Park

JAMMU: Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women, today organised an Educational trip for Zoology department students to Manda Zoological Park.

As many as 36 students of Semester II of Multidisciplinary Course (Wildlife Conservation) along with the Faculty members of Department of Zoology visited the Zoo.

During the visit students were made aware about Wildlife of J&K, wildlife Habitat and status of being vulnerable and getting endangered. The students were shown a documentary on Gharana Wetland and Wildlife of J&K by the Department of Wildlife Protection, Government of J&K.

Later, the Department administered a Pledge to visiting students and staff to conserve wildlife resources.

The Students also participated in cleanliness drive under Mission Life Campaign at wildlife complex Manda under able guidance of S. K. Gupta, Principal Chief Conservator of Fossils (WildLife) J&K and Dr. Meenakshi Bandral (HOD, Zoology) PSPS. Govt College for Women.

The The drive was conducted smoothly with the timely support of Gulam Kadir and Sanjeev Kumar (Range Officers of the Wildlife Department) along with active support of Prof. Nargis Nelofar, Dr. Ashma Gupta and Dr. Neha Antal from Department of Zoology, P.S.P.S. Govt. College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
