GDC Kathua launches Mission Life Campaign

KATHUA: Government Degree College Kathua, in collaboration with the Department of Social Forestry, organised a Symposium as part of Mission Life Campaign launched in the college, here today.
The programme was organised by the Debate and Literary Committee of the college.
DDC Member Nagri Parole, Sandeep Majotra was the chief guest while the College Principal, Prof. Seema Mir was the Guest of Honour.
The programme was aimed at generating awareness about Environment conservation at a larger scale besides making students familiar with the developments with climate Change.
The programme started with lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the formal welcome address by the College Principal, Prof. Seema Mir.
In her address, the Principal highlighted the achievements and other developmental works of the College.
Twelve students took part in the symposium and threw light on one of the alarming issues of climate change and its impact on the Environment. They suggested slew of measures and proactive participation of all stakeholders in line with the theme of ‘Keeping the Earth Clean and Green'
Plant saplings were also planted by the chief guest, guest of honour and Divisional Forest Officer in presence of other officials of the Forest Department along with the staff of GDC Kathua.
HOD EVS, Dr. Deepshikha, Dr. Amita Dua, Dr Kamaldeep Singh acted as the Judges for the symposium on Environment Conservation.
The chief guest appreciated the staff and the Principal GDC Kathua for organising the awareness programme.
DFO Kathua, Munish Bhardwaj thanked Principal GDC Kathua for providing a platform to the students and collaborating with District Social Forestry in this National Campaign.
Other dignitaries who were present on this occasion were District Soil and Water Conservation Officer, AD Forest Conservation Force and Range Officer, Social Forestry.
Later, the certificates were distributed among the participating students and the winners of the competition by the chief guest.
