RRL High School holds Annual Investiture Ceremony

JAMMU: The Annual Investiture Ceremony of Regional Research Laboratory High School, Canal Road Jammu for the academic session 2023-24 was held here today with great pomp and dignity in a special programme organized at CSIR-IIIM, Jammu Auditorium to bestow the deserving students of the senior wing with responsibility of leading the school from front. 

The event was presided over by Anju Bala, I/C Principal of School. 

Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Director, CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine who is also ex-officio, Chief Patron of Col. R.N.Chopra School Society, was the chief guest.

He alongwith Anju Bala I/C Principal and Upasana Sharma, I/C CCA conferred the badges and sashes to the newly elected students’ council of the School. 

The Investiture ceremony signifies the confidence that the school consigns in the newly invested office bearers. 

In a press handout, it was stated that the School is divided into four houses i.e. Raman House, Kalam House, Bose House, Aryabhata House, named after the great Indian Scientists Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman, Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, Jagdish Chandra Bose and Aryabhata respectively.

The newly elected students cabinet members are Devika Sapolia and Sumiya Kousar as School Captain & Vice-Captain, Manpreet Kour is School Co-ordinator and Harshit was elected as Sports Captain.  

Vaani Kapoor and Radhu Sharma as Captain & Vice Captain of Raman House, Rahat Badyal and Arushi are Captain and Vice-Captain of Kalam House, Akshit and Rajan are Captain and Vice-Captain of Bose House while Purbhi and Shriya are Captain and Vice-Captain of Aryabhata House. 

School teachers Vaishali Sharma, Preeti, Taruna Ganjoo and Seema Sharma are In-charges of Raman House, Kalam House, Bose House and Aryabhata House respectively.

Dr. Zabeer Ahmed the chief guest of the function while congratulating the newly elected students’ council of RRL High School exhorted them to uphold the values as the council has pivotal role to play in nurturing the fellow students and maintaining the discipline in the School.

The student council is bestowed with important responsibilities and he advised them to be impartial and honest in discharging their duties.

He also reminded them that with position comes a lot of responsibility towards themselves, their school and peers and struggles help one to achieve the heights.

The Principal administered the oath to the students' council to hold the school motto of Live, Learn and Lead in high esteem. She advised them to be role models and lead by example with godly wisdom. 

Upasana Sharma, I/C CCA conducted the proceedings of the investiture ceremony while as Priya Wadhera presented formal vote of thanks on the occasion.

The function concluded with the National Anthem.
