LG Ladakh takes stock of works in Chuli Skambu area

KARGIL: The Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier BD Mishra (Retd) visited various villages in Chuli Skambu area of Kargil to take stock of various developmental works.

As per a statement, he visited the site of the construction of lift irrigation water supply scheme, playground and the Government Higher Secondary School at Chanigund. There, the concerned officials apprised the LG of the development of three projects at the same site due to the availability of land.

They informed the LG about the submission of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the Government Higher Secondary School. They further informed that the work on the construction of the playground would start soon.

The concerned officials informed LG about the procurement of machinery and pipes for the lift irrigation water supply scheme. They also informed about the need for adequate funds for the electrification of the project.

The LG Ladakh instructed the concerned officials to submit a proposal for solar power supply for the project.

He also visited Karkitchoo village to assess various development works such as the lift irrigation water supply scheme, the construction of link roads and the drinking water supply. The villagers requested for the need to increase the capacity of the existing lift water pump for the irrigation of agricultural fields and apricot trees.

He instructed the concerned officials to conduct a study in this regard so that needful action can be taken.

Chairman, LAHDC Kargil, Feroz Ahmed Khan; Deputy Commissioner, Kargil, Santosh Sukhdeve; SSP Kargil, Anayat Ali Chowdhary; ACD Kargil, SE Irrigation and Flood Control and other officers accompanied the LG during the tour.
