GCW Udhampur celebrates Baisakhi Festival

UDHAMPUR: Government College for Women (GCW) Udhampur celebrated Baisakhi Festival under the aegis of G-20 and Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at College Campus the other day.
The programme was organized by the Cultural Committee in collaboration with the Department of Music and under the guidance of Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Monika Sharma.
Principal extended her warm and good wishes to the students as well as staff members on this auspicious Baisakhi festival.
Dr. Monika Sharma said that such melas bring people of different religions, races and regions closer which help to maintain harmony amongst all the sections of the society.
The main attraction of the festival was a scintillating cultural programme based on traditional rich folk culture presented by students of GCW Udhampur which was highly applauded by the audiences.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Manvi Singh of Sem -2nd and Kristina Thakur of Sem 2nd while formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Seema Sharma (HoD Music).
Among others present were Prof. Kewal Kumar HoD Chemistry; Dr. Seema Sharma (Convener Cultural Committee); Sarika Mahajan, Assistant Professor of Electronics; Shallu Jasrotia, Assistant Professor of Music; Prof. Roopa Kumari, Assistant Professor of Education; Pooja Bharti, HOD Geography; Yash Kumar, Assistant Professor of Music, other teaching, non-teaching staff and a large number of students.
