Police holds T-20 Cricket tournament under CAP

JAMMU: A T-20 Cricket tournament, organized by Range Police Headquarter Jammu under Civic Action Programme (CAP) under the guidance and directions of DIG Shakti Kumar Pathak, concluded at MA Stadium, Jammu.

The tournament was organised to inculcate and promote sports spirit among the youth and build healthy Police-Public relations, wherein 32 teams of men and three teams of women from various places of the Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts participated.

DIG Jammu Shakti Kumar Pathak welcomed the chief guest ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh, while DySP Jatinder Singh tied the badge to ADGP Jammu and SSP Jammu and DySP Raman Kumar ADO tied the badge to DIG Jammu.

The chief guest congratulated DIG Jammu for successfully conducting the Cricket tournament in Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts and asserted that such type of events may strengthen the Police and Public relations and youths should take more part in sports activities and stay away from drugs and bad company.

The DIG Jammu felicitated the winners as well as runner up team with trophies, medals, certificates along with cash prizes. He also honoured participating teams and players with certificates.

The public present in the event appreciated the efforts of Jammu and Kashmir Police for organizing the tournament for youth.

The DIG Jammu also congratulated the winner/runner up teams and expressed that Police is committed to give boost to the sports and other youth development activities in the area. He further stated that sports activities are important for personality development, positivity and good health which keep the individual away from the negative forces.

Staff Officer to DIG Jammu Rajinder Katoch also thanked Jammu, Samba and Kathua Police for supporting to conduct the event successfully.

On the occasion, SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli, SSP Samba Benam Tosh, SP South Jammu Mamta Sharma, SP North Jammu Kulbir Handa, SP Kathua Suresh Chib, SP Hqrs. Jammu Ramnish Kumar, SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma, DySP DAR Jammu KD Bhagat, Pvt. Secretary to DIG Jammu DySP Tarsem Kumar Chib and other officers were also present.

CAP RPHQ Jammu Inspector Anju Pandita (Supervisory Officer), Sanjeev Sharma, Suresh Kumar, Tarsem Lal, Jasvir Singh, Sunil Sharma, Sudesh Sharma, Arun Kumar, Pardeep Kumar, Narinder Sharma, Shashi Kumar, Sabar Hussain and Vishal Kumar were also present in the venue for smooth functioning of the event.
