DECC Udhampur organises awareness, counselling sessions for unemployed youth

UDHAMPUR: The District Employment & Counselling Centre organised awareness and counselling sessions at Government Degree College Majalta, Government Degree College Ramnagar and BDO Office Ramnagar.

The sessions focused on career counselling and self-employment schemes such as Mission Youth Schemes and schemes run by other departments including PMEGP, Handicraft, Handloom, Fisheries, Agriculture, Horticulture and Animal Husbandry.

More than 300 unemployed youth participated in the programmes. Deputy Director Employment, Anshuman Singh; Employment Officer, Sh Imtayaz Ali and Career Counselling Officer, Navdeep Kour urged the youth to take advantage of the self-employment schemes run by different departments in the district.

The youth were informed about quarterly job fairs conducted by the Employment Department and on-spot registration for JK Employment & NCS Portal was also done.
