NSS Unit, JU organises lecture on Social Perception of Feminization and Gender Construction

JAMMU: In continuation to the celebration of International Women's Day, a series of lectures are being organized by NSSCampus Units of University of Jammu.

As a part of the lecture series NSS Campus Unit- I organized a special interactive lecture on "Social Perception of Feminization and Gender Construction: An Enquiry".Prof. Jasbir Singh, was the resource person for the event.

He stressed upon that there is a need to restructure and reorganize the role of women with changing dimensions of the society and the time has come to create a safe space for people to express their true potential regardless of what society's gender stereotypes and expectations.

Role sharing is the need of the hour to build up a balanced society.

Dr. Hema Gandotra, NSS Programme Coordinator, University of Jammu welcome the participants and introduced the Resource person to the audience. Nearly 59 volunteers participated in the event.

The entire event was conducted under the Mentorship of Prof. Umesh Rai, Vice Chancellor and Chairman, NSS University of Jammu and able guidance of Prof. Savita Nayyar, Convenor, NSS Campus Units.She appreciated the efforts of the Unit to celebrate International Women's Day.

Dr. Shallu Sehgal Programme Officer ,NSS Campus Unit I, coordinated the event and presented a formal vote of thanks.
