GCW Gandhi Nagar organizes awareness workshop on use of Sustainable Resources

JAMMU: The NSS units of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women Gandhi Nagar on Friday organised an Awareness workshop at adopted villages- Jaral chak and Kanal under the banner of G20 Club of the College.

The College Principal, Prof Minu Mahajan, Convener G20 Club, Prof S S Parihar and other faculty members flagged off the students' Bus for the visit to villages.

A total of 39 volunteers participated in the awareness activity under the supervision of NSS Programme Officers unit-1&2- Prof. Mala Bhasin and Dr. Monika Hans. The volunteers actively participated in door to door campaigns and interacted with the villagers particularly with women folk about the wisely use of various Sustainable Resources.

A Sustainable resource is anything- physical or human which can be harnessed to create wealth or improve the standard of living of people. It is a matter of pride and honour for India to host the G20 Summit under the theme of India's G20 Presidency- Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam means One Earth, One Family and One Future.

Prof. Minu Mahajan, Principal of the College, applauded the volunteers for their participation and motivated them to be a part of such activities.

She also appreciated the efforts of NSS PO's for organising this awareness workshop in the adopted villages.
