Swacchhata Abhiyan organized by Extension Unit of MIER College of Education

JAMMU: The Extension Unit of MIER College of Education (Autonomous) organized a Swachhata Abhiyan at Birpur village in collaboration with NSS unit.

The village has been adopted as part of the community development programme of the college. The college has always been at the forefront in undertaking ventures that can change the lives of the deprived sections of the society.

The institute has always been committed to finding out the practical solutions to the challenges involved in sanitation and to make the environment safe and clean.

More than 50 students from both PG and UG departments participated in the event. The main aim of the cleanliness drive was to promote awareness regarding cleanliness and to dissuade people from open defecation.

The students oriented the residents regarding waste management, segregation and disposal of waste along with the importance of personal hygiene.

Suman Devi, In- Charge Extension Unit, successfully organized the programme and formally thanked the Sarpanch and residents for their cooperation and support.

Dr. Adit Gupta, Principal MIER College appreciated the efforts of the Unit in conducting such pertinent activities for the community.
