Sensitization programme on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan organized in GDC Samba

SAMBA: District Administration Samba organized an awareness program on Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan in collaboration with Narcotics Control Bureau and Samba Social Club at Pt. Prem Nath Dogra Govt Degree College Samba today.

Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta inaugurated the event in the presence of SSP Benam Tosh and other dignitaries at the seminar hall of GDC Samba, which was attended by students, civil and police officers, NGO members, professors and locals.

Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the significance of educating students about the negative consequences of drug abuse and how to resist peer pressure. She urged all stakeholders to work together to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and highlighted the J&K government's zero-tolerance policy against it.

SSP Samba updated the attendees about the police department's 360-degree approach to curb drug peddling and addiction, including the capture of several interstate peddlers and the filing of FIRs against habitual offenders.

Guest Speaker, Kuldeep Dikshit from Narcotics Control Bureau sensitized the attendees to the dangers of drug abuse and countermeasures through a presentation and short videos. Additionally, students from GDC presented a symposium on drug abuse prevention and were recognized with mementos.

The event was attended by ADC, Rakesh Dubey; PO ICDS, Joginder Jasrotia; ACR, Manu Hansa; Principal GDC, Prof Geeta, members of Samba Social Club and other officers and officials.
