AIIMS Jammu organises 4 days health camp at MVIS

JAMMU: MV International School in collaboration with AIIMS, Jammu organised a four days Health and Well-Being Camp for students and staff of the school.

Teams of doctors along with nursing staff visited the school to conduct health awareness sessions to make students aware about good health, well being, basic life skills and volunteer blood donation.

The program was organised with the vision of Professor (Dr) Shakti Gupta, Director AIIMS Jammu, to raise awareness among the masses so that proper cautions could be taken while giving first aid to victims and hence saving their lives.

On the first day, a team of doctors consisting of Dr. Meeta Gupta, Dr. Renu Sharma, Dr. Natasha Gupta & Dr. Harleen Kour conducted separate sessions for girls and boys of classes 9th & 11th. Topic for the girls session was - Adolescent Health & Menstrual Health.

This session was conducted in august presence of Vice Chairperson of school Savita Abrol and Director Prep Wing Aakriti Abrol; whereas with the boys, discussions were held to educate them about different diseases, stress management, PCOD, drug abuse and adolescent life.

Second day's team of doctors consisted of Dr. Sunaina Gupta, Dr. Kanika Gupta, Dr. Heena Saini and Dr. Sandeepika Dogra. Topic of session for students of class 10th was - Basic Life Support in which presentations and hands on experience was given on cardiac arrest, CPR, chest compression, infant choking, burn injury and fractures.

The third day's session for students of class 12th was followed by the fourth day's session for the teachers in which Dr. Urvershi Kotwal and Dr. Sushant Kumar Menia raised consciousness for volunteer blood donation, its need and importance.

Doctors made students and staff aware about why we all should donate blood and motivate everyone to do so.

Director of the school Gourav Abrol and the Principal Kundan Lal Dogra thanked the team of doctors and authorities of AIIMS Vijaypur for conducting such fruitful sessions and hence motivating the students community to render help to anyone who is in need of emergency care.
