GDC for Women Baramulla celebrates Annual Day Function
Dr Sehrish highlights role of teachers in moulding & shaping the character of students

BARAMULLA: The Government Degree College for (GDC) Women Baramulla today observed the enchanting celebration of "Annual Day Function-2022 at College Premises here.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar graced the occasion as the chief guest.
Among others, the function was also graced by Former Additional Director General Doordarshan, Rafiq Masoodi, Former Principal, GDC Women Sopore, Prof. Fazl-ul-Rahman Beigh, Former Principal, GDC Beerwah, Prof. Fehmeeda Bano, Cultural Officer University of Kashmir, Shahid Ali Khan, Former Principal, GDC Sopore, Mushtaq Ahmad Dar.
On the occasion, the chief guest, in her address, appreciated the efforts put in by the incumbent college principal, teaching and non-teaching faculty, students, and other stakeholders in taking this institution to new and unprecedented horizons.
She laid emphasis on the sanctity of educational institutions and role of teachers in moulding and shaping the character of students.
Moreover, the DC assured all help and support from District Administration in accomplishing the mission and vision of the college.
Earlier, Prof. Dr. Maheen Mustafa, Principal of the college extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and other dignitaries and presented the Annual Report of the college. She read out the academic and co-curricular achievements of the college.
This was followed by mesmerizing cultural events, including Kashmiri Rouf, gazals, dances and documentary of a variety of events that transpired during the current academic session which mesmerized the participants.
Furthermore, the best-performing students during the current year were given certificates of appreciation, medals, mementos and trophies for their outstanding performance in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
