Heritage School Jammu Primary Wing celebrates Annual Sports Day

JAMMU: The Annual Sports Extravaganza was organized in the school grounds by the Heritage School Primary Wing on Thursday.

Amongst the dignitaries present were Shri Sunil Gupta, Chairman Heritage School, as the Chief Guest, Sunita Gupta, Founder Chairperson of Heritage School, as the Guest of Honor and Vishal Gupta. Special guest was Mayank Gupta, the first Head Boy of the school with his wife Sanchi Gupta.

The guests were greeted with bouquets of flowers as bright and cheerful as the faces of the children presenting them. Adamya Randhawa, Junior School Prefect presented the Welcome Address, marking the beginning of the event. This was followed by lighting of the Sports Flame by the Chief Guest.

The sports Torch was jointly carried by Saanvi and Shiva Gupta, who have brought laurels to the school by winning various competitions at the inter-school and district levels. Thereafter, Rishaan Sharma, Junior School Prefect administered the Oath to the participants.

The meet was declared open by the Chief Guest Sri Sunil Gupta.

The events of the day included track events like the ‘Bucket and Sponge Race for class I, the ‘Matki Race' for class II, the ‘Hula Hoop Race' for class III, the ‘Three legged Race' for class IV and the ‘Quintuple Race' for class V. The races saw enthusiastic performances by the teams and loud cheers by the spectators.

The students of class IV presented a scintillating performance of Zumba on the beats of a foot tapping number. It was full of exuberance and showcased teamwork and coordination. The splendid show was followed by felicitation of the winners of the track events.

Sunil Gupta and Sunita Gupta gave away the medals and certificates to the winners.

In his address, the Chief Guest Sri Sunil Gupta complimented the students and the staff for organizing a stupendous show, full of energy and enthusiasm.

The Headmistress Vandana Jasrotia extended the Vote of Thanks to the guests for gracing the occasion and encouraging the students with their kind words.

The fun filled day came to an end with the rendition of the National Anthem by the School Choir.
