Col. R.N. Chopra School Society organised Bal Vigyan Utsav to mark the birthday of Dr. Jitendra Singh

JAMMU: Col. R.N. Chopra School Society which is running Regional Research Laboratory School on no profit no loss basis purely for the educational benefit of the society organized a one day Bal Vigyan Utsav to mark the Birthday of Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science & Technology; Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences; Minister of State PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space and Vice President CSIR.

This programme was largely attended by the Scientists, Scholars of CSIR-IIIM, Jammu Staff and students of RRL High School, invited guests of civil Society where the Children of Drishti Kanya Chatrawas arranged impressive exhibition of the handmade items by using the waste and raw material.

Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, Chief Scientist, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu and General Secretary of Col. R.N.  Chopra School Society inaugurated the exhibition which is based on the "Waste to Wealth" concept. Dr. Saurab Saran, Incharge Technology Business Incubator, Dr. Govind Yadav & Dr. Anil Katare (Principal Scientists), Dr. Vinod Kumar, Dr. Boobalan G. Dr. Ramajayan P. and Dr. Sanket Shukla (Scientists), Anita Wazir, Principal RRL High School, Joyti Sharma, Anju Bala, Shashi Sharma and Priya Wadhera (all senior teachers) alongwith Scholars, students were also present on the occasion.

In the exhibition, the children displayed innovative handmade products made of pine needles, clay craft, leaf paintings and handicraft stuff. The eminent scientists of IIIM and prominent citizens of civil society have highly appreciated the products made by the children of Drishti Kanya Chatrawas.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zabeer Ahmed, General Secretary of RN Chopra School Scoiety said that Col. R.N.Chopra was son of the soil, who was founder Director of erstwhile Regional Research Laboratory (RRL), now Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine, and the taking forward his dreams about education, the Col. R.N.Chopra School Society was established.

"Today, it is a great opportunity for the Col. R.N.Chopra School Society that we are conducting an outreach programme for the welfare and encouragement of young children by organizing the Bal Vigyan Utsav to mark the birthday of Dr. Jitendra Singh, another great & visionary leader and son of the soil", Said Zabeer Ahmed.

As a mark of appreciation, the mementos and certificates were distributed among the children for their creativity and innovative work.

Children of Drishti Kanya Chatrawas were very happy and delighted with the programme and also wished very happy birthday to Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister and prayed for his long life.

Vandana Katoch, Sr. Teacher conducted the proceedings while as Anita Wazir, Principal presented formal vote of thanks.
