GDC Ramnagar organises Cycling competition

UDHAMPUR: Government Degree College Ramnagar today organized a Cycling competition for the students of all semesters.
At the outset, Convener sports committee Prof. Suresh Kumar Dogra and other members welcomed Dr. Udhey Bhanu, the college Principal and staff members.
Prior to the event, the principal, in his address, advised the students to opt for cycling in their daily life as this will keep them fit and healthy.
Further, he told them that the motive behind organizing this cycling competition was to motivate the students to participate in the games and sports so that they can also compete at college and university level competitions to nourish their talent.
He also advised students not to indulge in drug abuse and other menaces which makes the society unhealthy. He also appreciated the Sports committee for organising the maiden cycling competition in the College.
Later, the cycling competition began under the supervision of Dr. Mukesh Kumar, PTI. Both boys and girls participated in the said event separately. In the girls segment, Shilpi Thakur, Shivalli Sharma and Pooja Devi clinched first, second and third positions, respectively.
In the boys segment, Pavinder Singh, Sumit Tripathi and Nitin Sharma clinched first, second and third positions, respectively.
At the end of the competition, all participants were served refreshment. All staff members and a large number of students were present to witness the competition.
