Navratri festival witnessing unprecedented footfall of devotees at historic temple shrine

SAMBA: Navratri Festival Samba 2022 celebration at Chichi temple, Samba is witnessing an unprecedented rush of the devotees amidst orchestrated events, competitions and Mata Ki Bhaints.

District Administration Samba, in collaboration with Chichi Mata Trust, today held a day long Devotional Songs Singing Competition in which scores of students, locals across the ages participated with full enthusiasm and zeal.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta congratulated the organizers and participants for their enthralling performances.

The DC said the Navratri Festival in Samba from 26th September to 04 October has been organized to promote Chichi Mata Temple as a major pilgrimage tourist destination of the district, especially during Navratri Festival. "More such programmes shall be organized in Samba in view of the upcoming festival season" added DC Samba.

Chichi Mata Trust, on the request of District Administration Samba, had taken this initiative. In view of overwhelming response from the locals as well as devotees, the Trust has decided to organise Navratri Festival bi-annually on the occasion of Navratri.

Among winners in Male category (Professional) Yogesh Kumar bagged 1st prize, Karan Kumar, 2nd and Sawran Lal 3rd. In Male (Students) category Anshu, Sourav and Ashsih bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, respectively.

In the female category Sudhanshi, Muskan and Tapasvani bagged podium positions, respectively.

The winners were given cash prizes, mementos, while certificates of participation were presented to all other participants.

More than 50 participants took part in the singing competition.

Additional Superintendent of Police Surinder Choudhary; District Information Officer, Ajay Sharma; Krishan Lal Gupta, Vice president Chichi Mata Trust, besides A large number of devotees, students and others were also present.
