GHS Kalai organises colorful cultural program on Beti Padhao Beti Bachao, NUKKAD Natak on Drug Abuse

POONCH: Government High School Kalai Poonch, under the aegis of Chief Education Officer, Bishamber Dass, today organized a colorful cultural program in connection with "Beti Padao Beti Bachao" Abhiyan in the premises of the school.

The CEO was the Chief Guest on the occasion, while Mukhtar Manhas, Principal GHSS Boys Surankote and Neelam Sharma Principal GHSS Shiendara were the guests of Honor.

The motive of the program was to educate the masses in general and youth in particular about the destructive role of drugs and to educate the masses about various initiatives of the UT Government and the Department of School Education for the welfare of the masses, especially for girl children.

Students of the Kalai Cluster presented a colorful cultural program. A quiz competition was also organized on the occasion.

Students also presented a Nukkad Natak on the Theme "Say No To Drugs" which was highly applauded by the audience.

CEO Poonch, Bishamber Dass, in his address said that teachers are the only fraternity, who directly deals with the maximum households and can be the best messengers of the UT Government and the district administration with regard to social issues. "Teachers have to take the responsibility to bring reforms in the society by organizing various awareness programs as a part of Education system" he added.

Highlighting the essence of NEP 2020, he said it stresses on holistic development of the students and which can be achieved by involving students in all the activities like Sports, Culture, Quiz competitions, Essay writing competitions, Art and Craft etc. He also appreciated the Headmaster HS Kalai and the teachers of the Kalai cluster for their active participation in various initiatives of the Education department.

Principal HSS Boys Surankote, Mukhtar Ahmed Manhas, who is also holding the charge of ZEO Surankote, Neelam Sharma, Principal HSS Shiendara, Headmaster HS Kalai, Anis Fatima, District Resource Group Member, Darshan Bharti and PRIs also spoke on the occasion.

The chief guest also distributed prizes among the students on the occasion.
