AHD teams vaccinate Stray cattle against LSD in Doda, Bhaderwah Municipalities

DODA: A vaccination drive of stray cattle against Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) was started today by the Animal Husbandry Department Doda under the supervision of Chief Animal Husbandry Officer Doda, Dr. Mayan ud Din Gures and Livestock Development Officer Bhaderwah Dr. Aijaz Hussain Patigaroo, besides in collaboration with the staff of Municipal Committee Doda and Bhaderwah.

Two teams were constituted for the drive in Doda and one in Bhaderwah. Dr. Imran Magray, VAS DVH Doda, Dr. Suhail Lone, CP Doda led the team in the municipal area of Doda, while Dr. Mohammad Akram Malik, VAS led the team in Bhaderwah.

Around 42 stray cattle were vaccinated against the LSD in Doda Township and 22 cattle in Bhaderwah Town.

The general public was also made aware about the disease and the preventive measures.

Special stress was laid on to control the flies and mosquitoes that act as vector and main cause of the disease spread.

The general public was further appealed not to let their animals go outside as they can catch the disease and be the reason for its spread in the municipality.
