Teachers Day celebrated at The Shri Ram Universal School Jammu

JAMMU: Teachers' Day was celebrated with great fervour and exuberance at The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu on Monday.

The programme was conceptualised, organised and conducted exclusively by the students. The proceedings were anchored by Jhanvi and Ayushi of class 10.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp and garlanding of the portrait of the great educationist and former president of India Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan by the Director, Rajani Gupta, Principal, Col VK Sharma (Retd).

Floral tributes were paid by the Headmistress Shivani Vaid Sharma and all the teachers as a mark of respect for the great luminary of all times. To commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary, the programme comprised some splendid performances by students of different Forms and included recitation of Gayatri Mantra, school prayer, mind boggling thoughts, inspirational speeches, melodious songs, lovely poems and an entertaining dance performance.

The programme reached the climax when the students enacted as Principal, Headmistresses and the teachers and mesmerized the audience by resorting to impressive way of addressing the students. Switching to their original version, the students expressed their gratitude to the teachers and everyone was in awe of them. Making best out of the occasion, winners and the participants of various competitions were felicitated during the event.

The Principal, Headmistress and the teachers of the school were ecstatic to see the entire event. The Headmistress shared her views with the students and motivated them to hone the skills helpful for developing an all-round personality.

To mark the culmination of the event, the Principal in his address appreciated the efforts put in by the students for organizing and managing the event wonderfully in the most meticulous manner. He also appreciated the teachers for the hard work that they put into everything they do.

The event concluded with the National anthem sung in unison. To cherish the occasion and preserve the memories for posterity the moment was captured by clicking a group photograph.
