ADGP honours Indian Roller Hockey contingent

JAMMU: Cheering up the participants ahead of the World Skate Games, the Additional Director General of Police, Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh honoured the contingent of Indian Indian Roller Hockey attending a training camp at Maulana Azad Stadium here.

Singh boosted the skaters by facilitating them with memontoes and presenting T-Shirts on the occasion.

This is the second training camp being organised by the Roller Skating Federation of India as earlier the first camp was held from June 15 to 30 at Patiala.

An athlete himself, Singh extended best wishes to the trainees for the prestigious international competition advising them to stay focussed and give their best and bring home the title.

Federation appointed Head Coach, Rajesh Anand, who is also the Deputy Superintendent of Police stated that it is a matter of pride for Jammu and Kashmir UT that such a level of camp is being organised by Roller Skating Federation of India, hosted by J&K Roller Skating Association and supported by J&K Sports Council in collaboration with J&K Police from from August 20 to 31.

He said that the Indian Junior Men and Junior Men Roller Hockey Team will be participating in World Skate Games to be held in Buenos Aires and San Juan, Argentina from October 24 to November 13.

Notably, Rajesh Anand, who is also an former International player and captain of Indian Roller hockey team is conducting the camp in Jammu.

"The boys are full of energy and we are sure that the team will outshine in the competition," said Anand.

Secretary, Roller Skating Federation of India, Naresh Sharma and President, J&K Roller Skating Association, G S Khurmi thanked the J&K Sports Council Secretary, Nuzhat Gul and J&K Police for all logistic support and motivating the skaters.

They also thanked the Divisional Sports Officer, Ashok Singh, Satish Gupta, Manager, Indoor Stadiums, M A Stadium for being helpful and supportive in successfully conducting the camp.
