YSYB GDC Udhampur presents Thumb-Prints made National Flag to Principal

UDHAMPUR: The Yuva Soch Yuva Bharat Group (YSYB) of Government Degree College Udhampur organized a One of its own kind of campaign- Creating Tricolour National Flag with the Thumb Impressions of ‘We the People of Udhampur.'
The event was held under the patronship of the college Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta, guidance of Dr. Pankaj Sharma, Coordinator AKAM Cell and Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma, Dean Students Welfare of the College.
Speaking on the occasion, the Principal lauded the out of box idea of YSYB group of the college for the marvelous and innovative efforts of the Team and assured the students that this Flag, after proper framing, would be displayed in the Principal's chamber forever.
The Campaign was started on 12th of August 2022 by the founder members of Yuva Soch Yuva Bharat Group of the College under the leadership of Vishal Roudhan by taking the first thumb impression of Principal Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta. After that the YSYB took the thumb impressions of the other teaching staff, students, and non-teaching staff of the college.
The YSYB led this thumb impression campaign outside the college in and around Udhampur and also kept on doing awareness for Har Ghar Tiranga. During the campaign they visited the office of the District Development Commissioner and took the Thumb impression of Krittika Jyotsna. She appreciated the unique ideas and efforts of the YSYB.
The members of YSYB also visited many other places like the office of the Chief Education Officer, office of the CMO, Police Station, Udhampur, who were in all praise for this unique idea of the students.
The YSYB members also took thumb impressions of the labourers, shopkeepers, street-vendors, private vehicle drivers, auto-Rikshaw drivers, rehari-wallas and passersby, positing a real meaning of the flag, that is the *all inclusive pride of all. The entire campaign was completed on 15th of August 2022.
Today, the Members of YSYB namely Vishal Roudhan, Amandeep Singh, Sunali Jamwal, Sumita Thakur, Shajiya Tabassum, Kannav Mahajan, Harpal Sangotra, Gurdeep, Ayush Attri, Vishakha Jamwal, Ashish, Varinder, Monaj, Ritish, Marshal, Antriksha, Sujanaya handed over the Completed Flag to the Principal in Presence of the mentors Dr. Pankaj Sharma and Dr. Ajay Kumar Sharma along-with the other members of the staff.
Vishal Roudhan told all present on the occasion that a total of 1947 thumb impressions of the people completed the colours of the National Flag.
