The Shri Ram Universal School celebrated 76th Independence day as ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'

JAMMU: To commemorate the commencement of the 76th year of Independence Day, celebrations were held in a mesmerizing way in the campus of The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu.

The students along with the chief guest of the event, Rajni Gupta, the Managing Director of the School, Col. V. K. Sharma (Retd), Principal of the school, Faculty members, Adm and supporting staff members organised a pride rally within the school campus wherein the children held the tricolour high and resorted to sloganeering in praise of our great Nation. The campus was filled with the aura of sheer patriotism.

The event was anchored by the English teacher, Neha and two students from class 7 Joel and Chhavi.

The headmistress, Shivani Vaid Sharma welcomed the chief guest, Principal and all present in the mini Auditorium. In her address, she advised the children to be grateful for being born in a free Nation.

The Guest of Honour Sanjeev Gupta, the Chairman TSUSJ also joined the event and enjoyed the colourful performances put up by young Shirts. The sequence of the program included patriotic songs, Folk Dance glorifying the bravery and sacrifices made by the freedom fighters.

The students also presented a skit showcasing different phases through which our great country has sailed through.

Towards the end of the event, the Principal gave an insightful description on India's Independence struggle and specially highlighting the importance of the colours in our National flag.

The chief guest on the occasion conveyed her best wishes to everyone. She emphasised the importance of freedom and efforts made by the freedom fighters in securing our freedom.

The Guest of Honour congratulated teachers and Students for putting up such a grand show on this memorable occasion.

The vote of thanks was delivered by the CCA in-charge TSUSJ, Manpreet Kour Jhans.

The celebrations ended with the singing of the National Anthem.

To culminate the function, the school management arranged distribution of sweets and chocolates to all the children of the school.
