Ladakh LG discusses BRO's ongoing, upcoming projects with DG

LEH: Lieutenant Governor of Union Territory of Ladakh R K Mathur today held a meeting with the Director General Border Roads Organization and Chief Engineers of Vijayak and Himank and discussed ongoing and upcoming projects in the Union Territory.

During the meeting with Lt General Rajeev Choudhary, DG BRO, Brig Ashish Gambhir and Brig M S Sodhi, Chief Engineers of Vijayak and Himank, discussion was also held on keeping the Zoji La open for maximum period.

All these officers apprised the Lieutenant Governor about the projects being executed by their respective organizations.

In the month of April this year, the DG BRO had conveyed to the Lieutenant Governor that BRO will will be setting up new road construction company units and a task force for carrying out various development project work in Ladakh.

He had asked the Lieutenant Governor for the allotment of land for carrying out various project works in the Union Territory.

The BRO's ongoing projects include Hanuthang-HandanbrokeZingpal-Turtuk road, Kela Pass, construction of ChushulDemchok road and NimooPadum-Darcha road on the Sino-Indian border.
