And now, Aamir Khan has reacted to the whole controversy. Appealing to people of the nation, Khan said that many people strongly believe it in their hearts that he doesn't like India. The Thugs of Hindostan actor added that it is entirely untrue and it pains him to see this.
Khan also added that it is unfortunate because it is not the case. He appealed to the people of the country and urged them not to boycott his film.
He went on to add, "In their hearts they believe, but it is untrue. It is rather unfortunate that some people feel that way. That's not the case. Please don't boycott my film. Please watch my film."
Back in 2016, Aamir had clarified his statement on 'unsafe' India which had triggered nationwide outrage. "I never said India was intolerant or I wanted to leave the country. I also understand the emotions of those who were hurt. I would like to say that my statement was misunderstood and to some extent media is responsible for it. I was born here and I will die here," the actor had said.
