ASCOMS organises 34th Divisional Round of IAP quiz

JAMMU: Department of Pediatrics organized 34th IAP quiz under the aegis of IAP, J&K State chapter in the college auditorium of Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences and Hospital.
Four teams, Team A (Akshay Jandial and Agrimjyot Singh Manhas), Team B (Aryan and Ashima Gupta), Team C (Um Abhia Saleem and Fayiza Rafiq) and Team D (Owais Maqbool and Mehdi Hassan) participated in the competition.
Agrimjyot Singh and Ajay Jandial from ASCOMS emerged as winners and qualified for the zonal round which is likely to be held in Chandigarh in third week of October.
The activity was inaugurated by DK Batra Secretary ASCOMS, Manik Batra Director, Batra Group and Dr Pavan Malhotra Director Principal ASCOMS in the presence of Dr GS Saini Professor and Head, Department of Pediatrics and President IAP J&K chapter and Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma President IAP City Branch Jammu.
The whole activity was conducted under the supervision of Divisional Coordinator Dr Ravinder K Gupta Professor and Head Department of Pediatrics ASCOMS and Hospital.
In his address, Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma stated that the questions asked to students were in a uniform way, while Dr GS Saini stressed upon the need of such quiz activities for the benefit of undergraduate students who after qualifying MBBS will definitely play a role in decreasing morbidity and mortality in children.
Dr Pavan Malhotra, Director Principal ASCOMS Hospital stated that such activities will bring the sense of competitiveness among the students.
This scientific activity was also witnessed by Dr Sanjeev Digra, Dr Mohammad Razaq, Dr Pallavi Sharma and Dr Pooja Bharti, faculty members from Government Medical College Jammu. Dr NK Pargal, Dr Neera Singh, Dr Mahesh Gupta, Dr Gurmeet Kour and Dr KB Sharma were the other senior pediatricians who graced the occasion.
Dr Ravinder K Gupta, Dr Vikas Mahajan and Dr Priyanka Sharma were other quiz masters. Dr Sushil Sharma, Dr Vikas Sharma, Dr Rohit Singh and Dr Anurag Vaid assisted in smooth conduct of this activity. Dr Arshpal Kour and Dr Niharika Mahajan managed the stage.
Later, the contestants were awarded certificates and mementoes by the dignitaries.
