Clean India: Safe India, Swachta drive by NSS GGM Science College

JAMMU: NSS GGM Science College under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan organized a cleanliness drive with in the campus of the college under the clean India Swachh Bharat Abhiyan: a country wide campaign initiated by the government of India celebrating Gandhi Jayanti under the aegis of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.

This drive was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. Ravender Tickoo. He said that From October 1 to 31, 2021, the Government has launched the Clean India Drive to clean waste and to focus mainly on single-use plastic.

The purpose of the drive is to promote "Clean India: Safe India". Cleanliness should be joined by all citizens. India's largest cleanliness drive aims to make India more sustainable and eco-friendly for living. Students are the real ambassadors of cleanliness and motivate others to keep their homes, schools, colleges and surroundings clean. NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan with the volunteers took swachhta pledge. Now it is our duty to serve Mother India by keeping the country neat and clean. I take this pledge that I will remain committed towards cleanliness and devote time for this. I will devote 100 hours per year, that is two hours per week, to voluntarily work for cleanliness.

Taking the broom to sweep the campus, cleaning up the surroundings, focussing on sanitation and maintaining a hygienic environment have become a practice after the launch of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The main motto being "Ek kadam swachta ki aur." Cleanliness starts from home.

Using dustbins segregation of wastes biodegradable from non degradable wastes. NSS volunteers cleaned the campus, picking up the trash and putting them in dustbins with full spirit of clean swatch India.
