GCOE Celebrates International Day of Peace

JAMMU: NSS unit of Government College of Education (GCOE) under the patronage of the Cluster University of Jammu celebrated World Peace Day by organizing an online painting competition to share knowledge and wisdom on creating safe, peaceful event spaces.
The event was celebrated to commemorate Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav on 21st September 2021. The theme for the day was "recovering better for an equitable and sustainable world"
This provides a globally shared date for all humanity to commit to peace above all difference and to contribute towards building a culture of peace.
Dr. Kulvinder Kour (Principal of GCOE) appreciated the activities of the students towards promoting a harmonious and peaceful society. Later she stressed the importance of celebrating these kinds of events.
The program was adroitly conducted by Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Nodal Officer along with Prof. Seema Kumari, Prof. Sarita Dogra, and Prof. Shapia Shameem Bhatti. They spoke on the importance of peace. Slokas of 'Shanti'or Peace were chanted by the entire team.
Many of the NSS volunteers actively participated in this event and made different paintings. This activity instilled in them the life skills of collaboration, co-operation and teamwork.
The best three nominations of this Competition will be considered by the organizers and the panel of Experts will evaluate and declare the winners on the official website by 23rd September.
