GDC Basohli organises Online Poster Making Competition

KATHUA: GDC Basohli organised an online Poster Making competition on the theme "Say no to drugs" under the aegis of "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav" to commemorate the 75th year of Indian independence under the patronage of Principal, Dr. Nidhi Kotwal.

In the welcome address, Sandeep Sharma briefed the function and talked about the menace of drug abuse. A very motivational and thought provoking lecture was delivered by Dr. R. K Manhas, while interacting with the students he highlighted few points that can help students stay away from drugs and remain focused on their aims to build a healthy and strong society.

Twenty college students participated in the competition. Each student was given 30 minutes time for Poster Making. The event was judged by Dr. R.K. Manhas, Dr. Papinder Kumar and Dr. Gotam Singh Lalotra.

Among all the participants, Naina Sharma of semester 4 bagged first position, Nandani of semester 2 secured second position, and Munish Kumar of semester 2 secured third position.

The proceeding of the event was attended by the students of the college and the faculty members Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Gupta, Prof. Pawan Kumar, Dr. Kehar Singh, Prof. Suresh Barwal, Dr. Shiv Kumar, Prof. Bhram Dutt Dr. Shiv Mangal Singh and Sandeep Kumar.

In her concluding remarks, Dr. Nidhi Kotwal reiterated the importance of saying no to drugs, and appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee for holding such an interactive event.

The program culminated with the vote of thanks presented by Prof. Bhram Dutt.
