University of Jammu celebrates 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav'

JAMMU: University of Jammu organized a Webinar on the 'Ethos of the Independence in the pre & Post-Independent India' in which more than 100 students, scholars & faculty members of the various departments of the University participated through google meet.
Prof Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice-Chancellor of the University was the Chief Guest at the function.
Prof. Dhar congratulated the Department of Education for taking the lead for being the first to organize the curtain-raiser of the celebrations of the 'Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' in the University of Jammu.
He complimented the speaker Prof RajeevRattan Sharma, the Head of the Department of Education for presenting the struggle for Independence through the lens of History & the ethos of the Indians in achieving Independence in a systematic manner.
In his detailed presentation, Prof. Sharma made mention of various stalwarts who played a key role in the formulation of various policies related to education. Prof Dhar asked the scholars, the students, and the faculty members to attend all such programmes in the next 75 weeks, as it provides a window of the new learning and understanding of India.
He made a mention of the inauguration of the "Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav' by the Hon'ble Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha Ji, who is also the Chancellor of the University in the morning from Brigadier Rajinder Singh Park, Samba wherein he desired that for next 75 weeks such programmes be organized in the Universities and Colleges.
Prof. Dhar directed all the teaching departments of the University to come out with a plan of organizing various events in the next 75 weeks, besides, Dean Students Welfare shall also organize few mega cultural events, and also Director Sports was directed to organize the Sports activities.
He said that these events must be organized in tune with five verticals identified by the Hon'ble Prime Minister while inaugurating the Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav today from Sabarmati today.
The program started off with the invocation of the Goddess Saraswati followed by the welcome address by the Dean Faculty of Education, Prof Renu Nanda.
Dr. Kajal Nanda anchored the program and provided a glimpse of the need for the celebrations like of present Mahotsav.
The Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. SK Panda. Besides others, Prof Mubarak Singh, Prof Arvind Jasrotia, the Registrar, and Minkashi Chaudhary also attended the program.
