JAMMU : Online Extension lecture on the topic "Entrepreneurial Skills: The Skills you need to start a Great Business" was organised by Government Degree College, Jindrah, Jammu (J&K) for NSS Volunteers today under the Guidance of Principal Professor Rajshree Dhar.

The webinar coordinator Dr Sunil Dutt Sharma, Assistant Professor (Programme officer NSS), while giving introduction about the lecture siad that it is a very proud moment that we are organizing such event that provides platform for students to interact with intellectuals while maintain social distancing. He assures the Volunteers that the outcome of this lecture will be fruitful for all.

The resource person of the webinar was Dr. Neetu Kumari (Department of Commerce, University of Jammu). Dr Neetu explained the meaning and the skills required to become a successful entrepreneur. She explained that an entrepreneur is an individual who, rather than working as as employee, found and run a small business by taking all the risks and rewards of the venture. She said many entrepreneurs believe that the most important factor that will determine their level of success with a startup relates to their overall experience and skills in the niche area. However, the most successful entrepreneurs have developed a certain set of skills that have helped them reach their goals. While you definitely need nerve and patience to launch and run a new business, you also need to focus on nurturing these seven critical skills that are integral to your future success in very important ways.

She further said that it is easy to give up when the going gets tough, but the most successful entrepreneurs persist because of their ambitious nature. They want to succeed, and they thrive on reaching small milestones that are stepping stones to their major goal. When you are highly ambitious, you may have an internal drive to work hard, and you may be committed to doing what it takes to make your business a success. The lecture was very interactive where the concepts were explained with the help of real life examples and the students got an opportunity to clear all their queries related to the topic. There were 70 participants in the webinar.
