Webinar on soft skills organised at MAM College

JAMMU: The placement cell of Government MAM College organised a workshop cum webinar on Soft Skills for the students of the college.
Prof (Dr) G.S Rakwal Principal of the college was the Chief Guest and Patron of the workshop. He lauded the efforts of the Placement Cell in organising a Workshop on Soft skills as it was an integral part of their overall growth and would enable them for the competitive world. He exhorted the students about the importance of Soft Skills in acing interviews and exams.
Urvashi Pachori, a certified soft skills trainer and career consultant from ICBI Pune was the resource person for the workshop. She highlighted that ‘soft skills’ incorporate a wide variety of personality traits, communication skills, social attitudes and emotional intelligence. These qualities are increasingly important for the young learners to help them realise their full potential and upward mobility in their careers.
Dr. Banpreet Kour convener of the placement cell welcomed the participants and gave a brief profile of the activities being organised by the cell as per directions of the higher education dept.
Prof Bharti Slathia moderated the proceedings of the workshop and delivered the formal vote of thanks.
The workshop was keenly attended by about 170 students from BA, BBA and UG honours.
Prof Deepti Gupta, Prof Vijeeta Anand, Prof Ridhi Sharma, Prof Bhanupriya, Prof Shallu Gupta and Prof Meenakshi Thakur were instrumental in organising the workshop.
