NCC organises blood donation camp at MAM College

JAMMU: On the occasion of NCC Day a blood donation camp was organised at Government MAM PG College here by 2 Bn of J&K Boys NCC Jammu in collaboration with J&K AIDS Control Society, Health & Medical Education Department and Red Ribbon Club.
Around 100 NCC cadets of MAM PG College along with volunteers of J&K AIDS Control Society participated in the camp. Ram Singh, Dy. SP Crime Branch Jammu was the chief guest on this occasion and he also donated his blood in the camp.
Principal of the College, Dr. G.S Rakwal was the guest of honour and Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Rather, Project Director, J&K AIDS Control Society and Dr. Meena Sidhu, HOD Blood Transfusion Department, GMC Jammu were among the dignitaries who attended the camp.
In his address Dr. Mushtaq Ahmed Rather emphasised on the need of blood donation and urged upon all the participants to motivate others to donate blood. He also informed that due to COVID-19 pandemic, the organisation could not get much volunteers and stressed that it is the duty of volunteers to aware masses about the importance to blood donation.
Col. P.K Sinha, Commanding Officer 2 J&K Boys Bn NCC Jammu was the special guest on the occasion.
Other staff members of the College including Prof P.S Thakur, Dr. Anil Singh, Dr. Rajesh Kumar Sharma, Dr. Rajesh Kotwal, Dr. Ranjodh Singh Jamwal, Dr. Namita Singh, Dr. Nalini Pathania, Prof Sarpreet Kaur and Dr. Firaz Ahmad associate NCC officer GGM Science College were also present on the occasion.
The event was held under the supervision of Major Dr. Karan Singh, Associate NCC Officer and Convenor, J&K AIDS Control Society, Govt.
