Police expecting positive role of every individual in realising peace, prosperous J&K: DGP
Police Martyrs Memorial Sports Festival concludes

BARAMULLA: Eleven days Police Martyrs Memorial Sports Festival, organised by District police concluded at Showkat Ali Stadium, here.
About 59 teams of Cricket, 34 teams of football, and 10 teams of Volleyball were participated in the entire sports festival while 467 persons were participated in Run for Unity event.
Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
The DGP said that police was on a mission in revolutionizing the sports in J&K. "During the past one month, a large number of sports events were organized across J&K to channelize youth energy in positive direction," he added.
He appreciated the youth for acting as messengers of peace by participating in a number of positive activities organized by the JKP.
Later, the DGP presented a cheque of Rs 17.50 lakhs to the parents of martyr SPO Muzaffar Ahmad who sacrificed his life while on duty on August, 17 this year at Kreeri.
SSP Baramulla said that the event was organized in the fond memories of police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and was aimed to provide a platform to the young and talented youth to express themselves and engage them in positive activities.
A cultural programme was also organized by DPL Baramulla during the culmination of sports festival.
IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, 19 Artillery Brig, Amit Dhir, DIG North Kashmir, Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, DC Baramulla, Ghulam Nabi Yatoo, and many civil and police officials were present on this occasion.
