SBCC wins Navreh Premier League trophy by defeating RSCC

JAMMU: Sai Baba Cricket Club (SBCC) won Narveh Premier League trophy by defeating Rajiv-Sameer Cricket Club (RSCC) during the final match at Sprawling Country Cricket Stadium Ambgorta, here.

The tournament was organised by Navreh Cricket Club (NCC) in which 10 teams participated. The teams were divided into two pool groups of 5-teams each. The inaugural match of the tournament was played between SBCC and RSCC teams.

The winning team was awarded with cash prize of Rs 20,000 from the chief guest while runner-up team was awarded with cash prize of Rs 10,000.

Man of the Match of the final was awarded to Bhanu. Bhanu was also declared as best batsman as well as Man of the Series of the tournament.

Vice Chancellor of Jammu University, Prof Manoj Dhar was the chief guest while Vimal Kumar, MD Royal Nest, Dr Suresh Saraf and Rajesh Padha were guest of honours.

Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor appreciated the initiative of the NCC. "More such tournaments should be organized especially at village level so that youth are able to play and talented ones get opportunities and a platform to showcase their skills", Prof Dhar said.
