JAMMU: Placement cell, University of Jammu organized fifth web lecture on Career Planning and opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Natural Language Processing (NLP), under JU Web Lecture series on career planning.
Prof. Manoj Kumar Dhar, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, graced the session by his presence as the chief guest for the occasion.
While addressing the gathering, he congratulated Prof Vinay Chauhan, Dean Student Placement for taking up initiative for the benefit of the students in the present times.
He further emphasized the importance of AI in the present scenario and the relevance of languages to make it more acceptable by the cultures across the globe. While expressing the gratitude to the resource person, he urged the students to take the benefits of these interactions for their future career plans. The session was attended by the students from the faculty of Computer Sciences and Languages of the main campus along with Kathua and Bhaderwah campus.

The peak team size Ankush managed/led is 1200 and peak software license fees from one customer is USD 5 Million per year.
He is MS (Software Engineering) from BITS, Pilani; MBA from ICFAI, Executive Management Program from IIM-C and Entrepreneurship 101 from MIT.
While interacting, Ankush appraised the students about conversational AI platforms that are based on diverse information, chatbots, virtual assistance, and training of machines for understanding human conversation. He further elaborated on the career paths in AI and success stories of chatbots - Alexa, Disha. He further put forth the fact that the scope of AI is quite high if the technology firms target 6 million SMEs and the use of AI can be seen in all functions of the enterprise.

Further, he enriched the session by showing the demos of chat bot and video bot to illustrate the applicative aspect of AI. He assured to support students by offering internship opportunities and live projects with suitable financial incentives.
Earlier, Prof. Vinay Chauhan, convener of the event presented a welcome address and highlighted the profile of the Placement Cell in terms of placement assistance and the activities undertaken by the cell for University students. Dr. Shubhnandan S. Jamwal, Secretary of the program moderated and hosted the event including the Q&A session, wherein all the queries raised by the students were addressed by the expert.
